Original Discharge Book to JOHN STANLEY REED. and Merchant Navy badge awarded in April 1944.

Discharge Number R270271. Born 1925 in Sunderland. The Discharge book begins in April 1942 two months after Johns 17th birthday.  John served on Merchant ships for the Invasion of France going over to Normandy from June to August 1944.

Discharge book comes with medal roll, details of convoys he was on, copy records from BT372 for John,

Johns brother was killed during the German raids on Sunderland in the Battle of Britain and is remembered by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
